FAQs
How do I pronounce your name and where does it originate?
It’s Armenian, and using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), it’s pronounced thusly: /Brl:ɔr/ /Pi:rɔn.i.æn/
Or, if you’d prefer to sacrifice phonetic specificity for lay simplicity, Briar (rhymes with wire), Piranian with (Pee – ron – ee-ann).
How often do you release new manga chapters?
As often as possible! Due to precarious health, I’ve chosen not to designate a specific timeline for this project. I may publish a lot of work at once or go some time between releasing new work. However, I’m dedicated to doing so as often as possible. I try respect my body’s need for rest as much as I can.
How can I find out when you post new chapters?
You can keep up to date on the latest content by subscribing to the site. Alternatively, you’re welcome to follow me on my Tumblr or another social media platform. You can find links for all my social media sites at the bottom of this page. However, I update this site and Tumblr most frequently.
How can I support your work?
It’s so nice of you to ask! I offer a variety of support options to cater to all. You’re welcome to help fund my work financially or simply support me by becoming a free subscriber. You can check out all the support options on my support page.
How long are the chapters in Nightblue manga?
I’ve elected to use shorter-than-average chapters. Instead of following the traditional 15-40 page average, I organize my chapters on a scene-by-scene basis. As a result, they may be only a few pages long. I chose this option to facilitate chapters being released more frequently.
What inspired this project?
This manga couldn’t exist without both Dungeons and Dragons and Baldur’s Gate 3, from which it takes its setting and a central character (Astarion, namely). I’m also pulling influences from many other places, writing as an act of protest against human trafficking, modern slavery, and abuse.
Briar Piranian Art
I’m a reclusive artist who loves Dungeons and Dragons. Follow my fan manga featuring a romance between Astarion Ancunín and an original character hailing from the Underdark’s most notorious city. Read it—tell your friends about it—and above all, take good care of yourself.
